The Goodie Mob - Is That You God? (Dabrye Remix)
Just a killer tune, Goodie Mob fronted by Cee-lo Green (you know, Gnarls Barkley and that 'Fuck You' song and so on). Never heard the original track, but love what Dabrye did with the beats here.
J*Davey - No More
Haven't found any other J*Davey tracks I like as much as this, although their other free tune 'Slooow' was pretty good as well. I guess this one's kind of Badu, when people got all inexplicibly excited about Janelle Monae I hoped it was going to be something more like this.
Kuroma - In New York, Everything Is Tropical (El Guincho Mix)
These next two are getting a bit psychedelic, I have to admit. El Guincho is certainly not known as a beat-head, but this is nothing like his normal music. I once played this on my radio show with masses of echoes on it by mistake, but didn't notice that it wasn't the way it was supposed to be.
MatthewDavid - Trusss
Yeah and this guy's tune is just a big mushy swirl of sound, but I'm keeping it in this category because of the soul samples and heavy beats. Had to squeeze it into some post because I love it to bits.
Since I blogged this originally he finally released his EP on Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label and they've gone ahead and given away two different tracks from the four track EP. Zany. Guess the album 'Outmind' will be out by the time this gets published too.
