Weekly mp3 #104: Shy Child - Disconnected (Anoraak Remix)

Holy crap, 2 years of posting free stuff to download! Here's the remix I've listened to most this year. You can stream or download it from the site of Valerie Collective.

The entire Valerie aesthetic seems to be about either:

a) following through on the cheesiest, most soft-rock-turned-electronic aspects of Daft Punk's 'Discovery'
or
b) sounding like the soundtrack to the climactic scenes of various 80s movies.

They probably amount to the same thing.

Anyway, the music is overblown, mid-80s dance vibes. Heavy drum machines and layer upon layer of synths. The singer from Shy Child is a guy, kind of squeaky and not-really-singing sounding. It's great fun.

Anoraak is a producer from Nantes, France. Shy Child are a duo from New York, New York, which their myspace tells me is in the United States of America.
