Weekly mp3 #115: Touch Typist - Late of Light

Touch Typist playing a gig

Get this from Who The Bloody Hell Are They?, that Australian blog I mentioned months back with that Danimals track.

A long, roaming track. It starts with a little two-note keyboard ostinato, then guitars bass drums build up around it and a wavery male voice doing that half-talking/half-singing trick. It sounds very ... night-time to me. Seem to have been getting more into reminders recently, so I'll say it reminds me of local band Marineville, which I guess means I'm also thinking of Velvets and Television too. Also a little of early Arab Strap (or maybe I mean that one Mogwai track with Malcolm Middleton on it?).

Touch Typist are a three-piece band from Melbourne, Australia.  Not sure if it's some weird chauvinism on my part that I post such a disproportionate amount of music created in one of the three cities I've lived in...
