MonkeyShuttle was a roughly ambient project, my second real "band", after making tracks and playing a few gigs around town in a sort of dub-house act. It was very silly and for the most part a lot of fun. After many amusing weekends mucking about we got to the point of having a name some time in 1995, I'd guess, and we broke up the following year. We played one gig for friends at Stuart's house, we had some tracks played on Radio Active
and did a live-to-air gig in that station's studio.
All members are still good friends (well, at time of writing, anyway) and we have collaborated with each other in various capacities since then.
The live-to-air session from 1995 is available for free download
. We dubbed the recording 'Artificial Intelligentsia', a nod to both our own pretentiousness and the 'Artificial Intelligence' series Warp Records was releasing at that time. Follow the link for details.
Um, as written directly above, all tunes from 'Artificial Intelligentsia' are free for download.
- The write-ups are a bit of a giggle, if I do say so myself.
